Orbitz, the online travel giant, has named Wilmington, NC area beaches as the number one ‘Beach Bargain Destination’. We locals know the beaches here are great, but now America knows. Local restaurants have a wide variety and priced fairly. Make a reservation and find out for yourself. Water and beaches are warm through September.
Orbitz determines the ranking by looking at the lowest average daily hotel rates (ADR) available on its website in mid-July for arrivals during August. Wilmington’s ADR was $87. Clearwater Beach’s ADR sat at $100, while Myrtle Beach had an ADR of $133.
